So it's been quite a while since I did a book review! I was super busy with school and work and my Guanajuato trip that I had to put this book on hold for a long time. But I finally finished and would like to share it with all of you.

Let me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. So I was very interested in the book, since the author was introduced to mystery novels by Christie.
The books is the perfect length for a mystery novel and quite fun and light to read. Shame I had to put it on hold for so long. I prefer to read my books, specially mystery ones really fast; so I don't forget any details.
Just like Conan Doyle, Dan Brown or Christie, DS Nelson has her own detective, this book is the third in the series. I have not read the first two but for this type of novel it is not strictly required to start with book one. It is still very enjoyable and you can perfectly catch on.
This story is about a small, quite village. Everyone knows each other so when a man is found dead, Blake starts to wonder who did it; despite his daughter telling him to stay away from any "investigation".
The book is fast paced when it needs to be. Descriptions are detailed so sometimes you feel the story is not advancing, but trust me: YOU NEED TO KNOW ALL THAT.
Something that actually caught my attention was various topics such as hat making and voodoo! I like hats and Voodoo is such a scary but interesting topic that even made me google stuff xD to know if it was correctly described or if it was true or whatever.
I love it when books make you lust for more knowledge. Even though the book is merely for pleasure reading, I think I learned a thing or two. And no I am not going to tell you who did it.
DS Nelson nails everything you need for a good mystery. I highly recommend this book if you are a Sherlock or Marple fan.
